CLOVIS CITY MANAGER ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF POLICE CHIEF
Clovis City Manager Mr. Larry Fry announced Tuesday that Clovis Captain Douglas “Doug” Ford, who has served as Interim Clovis Police Chief since June 13th, 2015, as Clovis’ Police Chief. Chief Ford is replacing Chief Sanders’ who retired June 12th, 2015.
Chief Ford has served the Clovis Police Department for eighteen years. Prior to serving as Interim Chief, Chief Ford was Captain with the Field Services Division.
Chief Ford holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Education in Law Enforcement and a Master of Science of Management Graduate Degree with a concentration in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University.
Chief Ford is a 2011 graduate of the Institute of Law Enforcement Administrations 47th Management College.
The City has considered applicants at both a local and national level. “We have conducted a thorough search throughout the selection process,” advised Clovis City Manager Larry Fry, Tuesday. “Both professionally and academically, Chief Ford possesses the skills needed to move Clovis’ Police Department forward. Throughout his tenure as Interim Chief he has served the residents of the community well and proven to be a good fit for both the department and the City.”
